Terms and Conditions
UK Swim Academy
1. General
1.1 These Terms & Conditions apply to all swimmers, parents, and guardians attending UK Swim Academy.
1.2 By booking or attending lessons or sessions, you agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions.
1.3 UK Swim Academy reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time where necessary.
2. Bookings & Payments
2.1 All lessons must be booked via the UK Swim Academy booking portal.
2.2 Monthly fees are collected via Direct Debit, typically on or around the 1st of each month.
2.3 Fees are calculated based on an annual programme of 39 lessons, spread evenly across 12 months.
2.4 Payments must be kept up to date to retain your space within the programme.
3. Lesson Structure & Programme
3.1 Lessons are delivered in accordance with UK Swim Academy teaching standards and ratios.
3.2 Lesson durations and swimmer ratios are set to ensure safety and quality of teaching.
3.3 UK Swim Academy reserves the right to adjust lesson times, teachers, or groupings where necessary to maintain service quality.
4. Holiday Lesson Schedule
4.1 UK Swim Academy operates a structured teaching calendar. Lessons do not run during:
- February Half Term
- Easter Holidays
- May Half Term
- Summer Holidays
- October Half Term
- Christmas Holidays
4.2 These breaks are scheduled in advance and form part of the annual programme.
4.3 Holiday periods are incorporated into the monthly pricing structure and do not result in fee reductions or refunds.
5. Holiday Swim Access Sessions
5.1 During holiday periods, UK Swim Academy may offer Holiday Swim Access sessions as an additional benefit to members.
5.2 These sessions provide supervised use of the pool in a relaxed environment.
5.3 Availability of sessions may vary depending on venue, staffing, and operational requirements.
6. Nature of Holiday Swim Access Sessions
6.1 Holiday Swim Access sessions are not structured swimming lessons.
6.2 No formal teaching, assessment, or progression will take place during these sessions.
6.3 Instructors are present in a supervisory capacity only and will not deliver individualised instruction.
6.4 These sessions are designed to support confidence, independent practice, and enjoyment in the water.
7. Supervision & Responsibility during Holiday Swim Access Sessions
7.1 A qualified member of staff will be present at all times during lessons and Holiday Swim Access sessions.
7.2 Children under 8 years of age must be accompanied in the water by a responsible adult.
7.3 Parents/guardians remain responsible for their child’s behaviour and participation at all times.
7.4 All participants must follow pool rules and staff instructions.
8. Booking & Attendance
8.1 All lessons and Holiday Swim Access sessions must be booked in advance via the booking portal.
8.2 Spaces are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
8.3 Only swimmers with a confirmed booking may attend.
8.4 If you are unable to attend, you must cancel your booking in advance where possible.
9. Holiday Sessions, Credits & Cancellations
9.1 Holiday Swim Access sessions are included within your membership and do not use lesson credits.
9.2 These sessions are non-transferable and hold no monetary value.
9.3 Missed Holiday Swim Access sessions are not eligible for catch-up credits or refunds.
10. Health & Safety
10.1 UK Swim Academy is committed to providing a safe environment for all swimmers.
10.2 Running, diving (unless instructed), or unsafe behaviour is not permitted.
10.3 Only appropriate swim equipment may be used during sessions.
10.4 UK Swim Academy reserves the right to refuse or remove participation where safety rules are not followed.
11. Safeguarding
11.1 UK Swim Academy operates in line with safeguarding best practice to protect children and vulnerable individuals.
11.2 All concerns should be reported in accordance with the Safeguarding Policy.
12. Changes to Services
12.1 UK Swim Academy reserves the right to:
- Amend lesson times, teachers, or session availability
- Adjust capacity limits
- Cancel or reschedule sessions where necessary
12.2 Where possible, reasonable notice will be given.
13. Cancellations & Termination
13.1 A minimum of one month’s notice is required to cancel lessons.
13.2 Notice must be provided in writing.
13.3 Fees remain payable during the notice period.
14. Liability
14.1 UK Swim Academy accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings.
14.2 Participation in swimming activities is undertaken at your own risk, subject to standard duty of care obligations.
